Class Math Problem - Going to the River Run Centre

Here is our class problem we worked on today. Practice this question :)

22 students and their teacher are going on a trip to the River Run Centre. Three parent helpers will drive the students.

Parent #1 can take 4 people at a time.
Parent #2 can take 5 people at a time.
Parent #3 can take 6 people at a time.

How many total trips will it take to get all the students and their teacher to the River Run Centre?

Challenge Question:

Parent #1 drives to the River Run Centre in 15 minutes; parent #2 takes 20 minutes; parent #3 takes 25 minutes. How long will it take to get everyone to the RRC?

*remember to think about the point, process and comment.

Scratch

You will need an adult to help you with this.

About Scratch
Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web.

As young people create and share Scratch projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

Day 3 of 5, Challenge #005

Challenge: Iguanas in a Cage [#005]

The grade 2/3 class has 15 iguanas (this is just fiction!). Kevin must put them in 4 cages to go home for the long weekend. No cage should have fewer than 3 iguanas. How should he divide the iguanas? How many possible solutions can you find?
